My work explores the intricate relationship between
nature, time, and human perception. Inspired by universal structures, rhythms,
patterns and parallels found in nature, I play with the way we perceive
landscapes, using them as a reflection of my own perception of time. The closer
I look, the wider my perspective becomes. This paradox fuels my fascination
with geology and the silent yet powerful transformations of the earth over
time.


I see my artistic practice as an alchemy of synergy,
where different materials and techniques converge to form new visual
narratives. Photography, alternative graphic techniques, cyanotype, etching,
drawing, painting, and woodworking all play a role in my process. Each medium
offers a different way of engaging with time and space—capturing, layering,
erasing, and reconstructing moments.


Through my art, I aim to reveal the hidden connections
between the micro and the macro, the organic and the abstract, the fleeting and
the eternal. I invite the viewer to pause, to immerse themselves in the quiet
dialogues of nature, and to reflect on their own place within the
ever-unfolding patterns of time.

So Below, a new project in collaboration with Uppsala University (SGU)


I am currently embarking on an exciting new project in collaboration with the Swedish Geological Survey (SGU) and Professor Anna Nuebeck at Uppsala University. This project focuses on the study of Thin Sections—ultra-thin slices of rock that reveal the microscopic structures from the earliest forms of life on Earth to the present-day geological patterns shaping our planet's crust.


Through this research, I am exploring the parallels between ancient and contemporary structures, seeking universal patterns that can provide new perspectives on both geological formations and the way we perceive landscapes. My artistic approach plays with the perception of time, space, distance, and human interaction with these environments.


The project culminates in an exhibition where I will use Thin Sections as a starting point to create a series of works that will fill a space with layered interpretations. By transforming these delicate rock slices into larger, immersive pieces, I aim to challenge the viewer's understanding of landscape and its relationship to time and the human experience within it. My intention is to bridge the gap between science and art, allowing both to speak to one another and reveal new dimensions of perception and meaning.


This project represents an intersection of scientific exploration and artistic expression, where the study of Earth's geological history informs the creation of contemporary visual art.

The reality of a typical life

	I found some beautiful old Dutch landscape paintings in a recycle shop. I was especially surprised by the painting of the ‘Stuw’, a weir located in my hometown Belfeld (Limburg).

My Dad ones took this picture of my Mom near this weir. I’ve always been in love with this image and think it’s why I started photography myself.

I met Diaz, Daubigny and Rousseau. Names I heard before. 
Works I’ve seen before. But this time they really hit me.

All three of them painted the impressive Forest of Fontainebleau. Known for its fanciful trees and rock formations.

My work is inspired by natural structures,
rhythm, patterns and parallels. The alchemy of synergy. Connections of all
matter.


I see along the lines of nature and try to
visualize its universal language. As each part exists only as a result of all
the rest. Every matter is an investigation, a decomposition, a search for what
makes it unique and universal at the same time. 


This is my way of playing with time. Experiencing
nature in its own pace.
